IALT: Leave positive feedbacks on other's blogs!

Malo Lelei and greetings to you all! Welcome back to my blog.  Today for this blog post I will be blog commenting of one of my best friends.  Drum Roll please! Dun , dun, dun it is... Edith Smith.

Here is a photo of Edith!

Why did I commented on Edith's blog?
The reason I chose to commented on edith's blog is that she is intelligent and she show's the school values consistently!  It's not just that but she is also a great friend and she always make me smile.  She is one of our student council leaders and she deserve to be on.  She is a person who always encourage others, she sets good example to young students and she have inspired me to be the best I can and to be myself!  I wouldn't achieve my goals if it wasn't for her and my friends for always being there for me.

Kiwisport/Volleyball!

IALT:  Reflect on Kiwisport.

This week for kiwisport I was sad and excited.  I was really sad because this will be our last lesson of tennis and I always like it when we get to hit the ball and learn new skills.  On the other had I was excited because we get compete one by one.  I was so happy because there will only be 2 people in the court at least 4 because I always struggle to work in a court when it has 4 people in it.  And this was our first time doing it and which made me happy.

My favourite part will be when kiengsington was screaming the scores.  It was so loud the other groups could hear him( especially the ones at the very far back).  He remind me of when my mum keeps on yelling when she watches a game of rugby.  I also liked how we get to verse each other one by one.

Image result for tennis

I think that needed to work on when I am doing tennis is to try not to bounce the ball that many times when I am serving and at least just do it underarm.  And it is waste of time bouncing the ball because it will take up your time of playing.

What I learned in volleyball is the rules to the game and how to serve the ball and how to hit the ball over the net.  Here are the 3 different types of techniques that we learnd:

Bump.  Bump is when you close your hands together and keeping you arm straight.  This will help you control of how you hit the ball.

Image result for bump volleyball

Serving.  You can either do overarm or underarm.

Image result for underarm serve volleyball

Volley.  Volley is another way of how you can hit the ball over the net.

Image result for volley

What I needed to work on for volleyball is always getting ready to hit the ball.  I also need to work on my serves because I do hit it but they just go up in the air which is a huge thing that I need to work on.  I think I also need to work on when I hit the ball over the net.  Most of the times when I hit the ball the ball will just go over my head.  I think how to solve my problems is to don't put that much power when I am hitting and just do it gently.

I would like if we could still practice our servings and hitting so that we can have more time hitting the ball and having fun instead of  restarting over again( which is annoying.  Especially in a hot sunny day).

This week we have been practicing for volleyball.  The tournament is coming up so we really want to start and hope that all improve and also having fun at the same time.   Here is a reflection about Kiwisport and about our 1 lesson of volleyball.

Povainga( Game night)

On saturday the 24th of March it was povainga.  To those who don't know what povainga is I will explain.  In english it means game night( or evening).  You mostly have this when you are at church or maybe just together with your family.  It contains games,  bible questions and many more fun things to do!  Well first of all we came a bit early but there were already people there.  We went inside.  I saw my friend she had a a really big cast on her leg.  I felt so sorry for her.  I went to her and she was so happy to see me. '' Hi Grace'' Noma( my friend) said with excitement. '' Hi'' I screamed with excitement as well.   We went to the hall and I asked her what happened.  She explained everything to me.  So what happened is there school went for paddle boarding and kayaking( which I think they are the same) at onehunga bay.  She was paddling and I think that she lost control of her balance and she flipped over and she hit a rock.  She was lucky that her feet didn't got trapped in the rocks or els that will be a big situation.  Then after that day she stayed in hospital for about 4 days and had surgery.  She explained how she felt.  She said I felt so lonely without anyone with me especially in the night time and I felt scared because I thought that I wouldn't survive from the surgery and I had so much delts.  It was really hard hearing this because I was going to cry.  I told her you shouldev'e  worried to much because god is always with you and he will never leave you.  Thats why you are still here.  She felt better after hearing that and we continued to play on her phone.

The elder wanted to get the churches attention.  " Can everyone please come into the hall because we are going to start our Game night" he explained.  It was almost like a herd of animals because everyone was rushing to the hall.  I bet they were excited too.  So Sela( the daughter of the elder) explained the rules for the games.  We only can choose one answer.  And you can't change your answers.  Some of the questions are just for the children so that means that the adults can't help and they are no discussion.  When it is the adults it's best if the children doesn't answer those type of questions because you might get it wrong( I am not being mean but if you want to make your team win just at least let the adults do their thing).  We got split into 3 groups.  In my group I had my Dad, Lily( my sister), Noma, Pae( our keyboard) and Sane(our worship leader).  This is going to be challenging because I haven't read my bible so often( which was my goal to read my bible everyday) so some of the questions for the children might be hard.  But I will try my best and have a growth mindset throughout this game.  We took turns answering.  We had laughters and had some fun most people shouted " Start the time" which was really hard because they didn't have time to talk as a team.  My dad was a genius( you know my dad is just the smartest out of my family if you ask).  He always read his bible everyday.  He prays everyday and even weird( for me) is that he always talk to himself but like he mostly looks up in the air it almost looks like if he is talking to god.  Okay lets not talk about that and continue with our game night.  My dad mostly answered the adults question and all of them is correct.  Me oh man I am terrible but I sometimes get it right and sometimes not correct.  I don't really care that much because it is just a game and it is not all about winning it's about giving it a go and have lots of fun.  We continued answering more questions and having more fun and laughters.  At the end my team won. YES!!! We won, we won.  Okay lets not go to overboard.  Remember Grace Humble winners gracious losers.  Even best we had a lolly scramble.  I mostly had the cadbury milk chocolate because I just love that sweet sweet chocolate flavour.  Emmm it just melts in your mouth.

After that everyone got lollies and each group got lollies too.  This was a great day and I enjoyed the games especially the lollie scramble.  What I found challenging is answering the questions.  Well some of the questions were really diffucult but I still tried my best to answer then even though it was hard.  I think that next time I could read more of my bible so often so when there is a challenge like this I will know it and sometimes when we have bible study we have to give like a little summarise what the verse is about and what it means to us.  And I am not ashamed of the word of god and I am a child of god and I want to improve being that type of kid.  Always being holy, peaceful, helping and always have a smile on my face.

I hope you enjoy reading this reflection.  Please comment below of what you think I need to work on.  I really like when you give me a comment because it will help me learn from my mistakes and I will know what I need to improve on next time.

Te Tuhi Lessin 2!

WAL: I am nz
Today I have finished my te tuhi reflection.  I have really enjoyed this lesson and I found printmaking actually hard but I still tried my best to accomplish this piece of artwork.  We used a itch tool to itch our surfaces of.  It's a tool that printmaking artist uses to make there  artwork beautiful.  Here are steps of how we made our own printmaking:

1.  We first had to paint this plastic sheet black.  After we finish painting it black we give it to salome and kelly to put it away in a cool place to dry.

2. There were other ones that was already dried so we use those ones.We get a letter( the one that you are doing) and trace it.  Next we draw our pictures that relates to nz and makes nz unique.

3.  Next we get a itching tool.  If you don't know what a itching tool is I well explain.  A itching tool looks like a long nail.  The end is more sharper like that little bit at the end of a pencil.  The top is round.  We use the top one to itch our letter and the sharp bit to itch of our pictures.  The top you will need to pull it down and the sharp one you just draw like how you draw with a pencil.  You will need to press it down really hard so that all the black stuff is gone.

4.  After you have done all these things you can pick a coloured paper.  The coloured paper will help see you pictures.  It is best that it is light colours for example red, orange, yellow, green or blue.  You can see you pictures properly and it is simple like that.

I have really found this challenging but I still tried my best and I had a growth mindset throughout this whole lesson!

Writing!

WALA:  Figurative Language
SC: Write a definition that makes sense to me.

Today this afternoon we had writing.  I wasn't here for writing because we had to go to each classroom to promote about zumba.  " So we are going to start zumba tomorrow and it will be in the hall.  It is every thursday at lunch time and Edith, Grace and I will be hosting this activity" explained lydia to the classroom.  After that we continue to go to each class and explain about this activity.  It was really tiring because when we were going to each classe I always have to hold it( because I didn't want to talk because I knew I wouldn't make sense) and my hands just got tired.  And also because we had to go upstairs, down stairs and standing up for a long time.  We finally finished our last classroom.  Yes!! We are going up to class.  Phew! Finally we finished.  Then I realised I was still holding the posters.  EEEEEEEeeeeeeeee hhh I forgot about the posters!  So we went to the office( because the sala tape in class room somehow disappeared) and asked sharon for a salatape( yes we did use our manners if you asked). We already know where to put the posters.  We went to out of the hall, next to rm 4, up the stairs and on the widows that was near rm7.  We finally finished and returned the salatape to sharon.

We went up to class.  I was really nervous to go up to class because the class was so silence  you could hear a pin drop.  We went inside and I realised that all of them were writing in there books.  Then I looked at the time, it was around 12:28.  Oh, boy we have missed a lot of stuff!( which I wished to stay).  Ms komor was still explaining about figurative language.  I saw in the whiteboard that for today we are learning 2 language features.  It was Hyperbole and Alliteration.  Well first of all I have heard these 2  language features before.  Secondly I have no idea what they mean!  I went up to ms komor to ask for a piece of paper.  When I got up to her, I was really nervous.  I had no idea why I was really nervous but I think it's  because how I was standing in front of the class( which was a lot of students).  For some reason I was giggling hard out when I was asking for the  paper with the examples of the hyperbole and the Alliteration.  Oh no! I felt so embarrassed!  I tried again and I got both of the  papers.  I went back to my table and continued with my work.  I was such in a rush I didn't had enough time to read the piece of paper and make my own definition of what I think( which we have to do every time) Alliteration means and what hyperbole means to me.

I started to think about.  I read the examples that as given.
Alice's aunt ate apples and acorns around August
Becky's beagle barked and bayed , becoming bothersome for billy.
So I kept on reading of the examples.  I still didn't get it so I asked hamish for help.  I asked him what  was the classrooms definition of alliteration? He replied back and said Repeating the first letter( I think that was).  So I wrote it in my book so that I will remember what it means.  Then I still have my hyperbole left.  I read the examples like I did with the alliteration.
I am so hungry I could eat a horse
I had a ton of chores to do.
I finished reading all of the examples .
I still didn't get it  so I asked leilani for some help.  She told me that the classroom came up with that hyperbole means that you over exaggerating things.  I wrote it down in my book then I started to write this reflection.  What I found challenging was that I wasn't here and I didn't quite get it.  But I asked my classmates and that solved my problem.  I really enjoyed going to each classes to present about zumba( nope I wasn't happy at all).

Thank you Leilani and Hamish for helping me.

Self Defense!!

WALT:  Show what we learned during self defense lessons.
Today this morning we had to create a poster about our self defense lesson.  Last week was our last self defense lesson.  It was really sad because I miss doing it and I miss julie as well.  It has been a great time with the girls doing self defense.  At first I was really scared because I wasn't that confident doing it.  But then when we got to do some more physical moves I became serious and I was now confident enough to do it.  I have really learned a lot from this.  What I found challenging in this lesson would have to be the physical movements.  When I kick I always lose balance.  But then when Julie explains to us bend your knees a little bit so that you are balanced.  I kept on practising and I totally got my balanced and I was able to kick( without falling!).  I started to build progress into my movements and now I know how to kick, punch, elbow and knee.  I have really enjoyed this lesson with all the girls.  I will like to say thank you to julie for coming every wednesday for teaching us self defense!!!

Kiwisport/Cricket! Part 4

WALT: Reflect on my kiwisport and cricket.

What problems did you encounter while you were at Kiwisport? How did you solve them?
I was struggling when we were playing cricket because most of the times when I was trying to hit the ball I always miss it.  I also need to work on controlling the ball and keep it inside of the square.  I solved this by taking tomas advice by aiming and keep on eye on the ball.  Next time I could hit the ball softly so the other person doesn't have to run to it and also more time playing.

How do you feel about Kiwisport this week? Why? (Give at least 2 reasons)
I felt excited because I just like hitting the ball and I versing other people so then I can tell what they need to work on and what they are really good at.  I was also a bit tired because I had less sleep because I had to babysit my little sister while my mum went to work.  You have no idea how long can they stay up!

What parts of it did you like? Why? (Give at least 2 reasons)
My favourite part of kiwisport was when we learnd about " double".  I was really excited to play this because I got to play with different people which I haven't played with and I builded positive relationships with others.  I also like how we get to play more and less lessons.  I now know what a double is and know how to play the game.

What parts of it did you dislike? Why?  (Give at least 2 reasons)
I didn't like when we were doing cricket because most of us had more turns then us and most of us was mucking around in kiwisport which we had less time playing tennis.

What did this weeks lesson  tell you about yourself and how you learn?
I have starting to make progress in my tennis because now I know how to serve and and I can  control the speed of my htting.  I also gone a bit better when I am hitting but I still need working on it.

What would you like to spend more time on during Kiwisport?
I would like to spend more time learning a bit more how to serve and having more time to practicing hitting the ball over the net and that you have to be serious about it because they peter have come here to teach us and if we are just mucking around well that is just a waste of time for peter to come.

What's the one thing that you have seen in your classmates' during Kiwisport  that you would like to try  next time?
I would like to have more control when I am hitting because when I saw fe'ao hitting it he had great speed and he was able to get more points for his team.  So that's one thing I would like to improve.

Here are some photos from our kiwisport!

TIMELINE!

IALT:  Find out what is a timeline.

What are timelines?
A timeline is something that explains about a topic( transport or video games).   It includes the main points of how this event happen.  All timeline is in order.  Wouldn't you think that it will be just weird if a timeline is not in order?

How do we read them?
Well I think that when you are reading a timeline you look at the year and the small summarize was given.  When I look at a timeline I always look at the year so I know when this event happened and also read the small information so I know what happened in that year.

Why are they important?
I think that a timeline is important because it helps you tell what happen in the pass and in the present.  It is important that we must know about the past because it can help you figure out what happen before you were born and they are amazing facts about the past and you never knew that you might be interested in making your own timeline!

What can we used them for?
We can use a timeline to tell the difference of the things that happened in the psat and the present.  They are used to explain how objects are changed from the past and how we can improve of what we can do in the present.

This week for our reading we have been focusing about the history of NZ.  We first talked about what we know about NZ.  You can see what I know about NZ in my blogpost.  Then we talked about what is a timeline.  We had to talk about what makes a timeline.  We had to create something that has to include what is a timeline? What do you think why we have a timeline?
Here is what I create to share my learning!

Here are examples of a timeline:

Blog Commenting- Lily Uasi

Image result for blog commenting

Today I will be blog commenting on Lily Uasi's blog.  As you already  know me and lily are sisters and most people( including teachers) get mixed up with my name and hers.  We both started in 2016.  After I found out that I was a student council leader lily wanted to become one as well.  Lily always work really hard and she is just a great sister.  She is intelligent; she loves reading books;she always take my feedback to her and she improves it.  I am so proud to be her sister( and my other siblings) that I want them not to follow into my footprints but to follow in their own journey and grow up what they wanted to be and show them who they really are as them self.

Here is a photo that was taken at my aunt's wedding.
Me and My sister was the flower girls.

IALT: Leaving positive comments on others blog.

Today I visited on lily's blog and went through her blog.  I stopped at hauora because I wanted to know what she learnd about that( since she was new to it).  She used a slide show to show her learning.  I read through to each slide.  While I was reading it I already have something that she did really well in her work and what is something that she needs to work on.
Here is the comment that I gave her:

I also commented another feedback on her " What happened at Tripoli??".  I wanted to read on this one because we are in that house and I wanted to know more about tripoli.   After I read it I commented her a feedback that was thoughtful, helpful and positive.  That is one important thing you need to know when you are commenting. It needs to be thoughtful. This will help the person know that you have read it or watch it.  It also has to be positive.  Like say something that was good about it.  Then lucky last helpful.  This will let the person know what to do next time and what do you want to know more about.
Here is the comment that I gave to lil:

I really enjoy reading lily's blog because I know what she has learnd at class and that she understands and reflets on it all the times.  If you want to check out  lily's blog I just added the link to it.  So if you want to go and visit it you should always leave a comment behind because you never know your comment would actually help that person accomplish her learning.  Hope that you have enjoy reading this blog.

Blog Commenting - Lydia Bloomfield

Hello and greetings to you all.  Welcome back to my blog.  I am so happy that I am back blogging.  This post will be about blog commenting.  I chose lydia to comment on her blog.  I chose lydia because she is someone you can look up to.  She is the number 1 best friend( true!) , She is so encouraging to others and she is loyal to others.  She is a young lady who is intelligence , always having a growth mindset in her learning.  She has inspired me and hopefully as a student council leader that she could inspire you like how she inspired me.

IALT:  Give positive feedback to others.
I visited lydia's blog and the first thing that got my attention was her "Weeknd's Reflection".  The bright colour of the pictures just got my attention and the detail of her reflection.
Here is the comment that I left for her:
